RCIA is the proper means of inviting non-Catholic adults into our parish communities. There are many people who each year tirelessly spread the Good
News of Jesus Christ by their good example, catechesis and parish liturgy. The more they know about their Catholic faith the better it will be for themselves and for those they accompany into the Catholic Church. Our Archdiocese of Sydney recognises this and is therefore extremely pleased to introduce and endorse the new Certificate for RCIA Formators.
The RCIA Formators Certificate is designed to assist parishes strengthen their RCIA process. Sound liturgy and catechesis are essential, and therefore the diocese is offering this RCIA Formators Certificate to all those who are (or would like to be) actively involved in RCIA catechesis.
I hope that many will take this opportunity to grow in the knowledge and understanding of their own faith and the Catholic tradition, and then in turn, continue to make themselves available to share that faith with others.
It is with great enthusiasm that I commend this new RCIA Formators Certificate to you all and hope that it is well supported in its vital work.
+ Cardinal George Pell
Archbishop of Sydney
